KOTA KINABALU: Incumbent Pensiangan member of parliament Tan Sri Joseph Kurup has faith that his son will be able shoulder the task of bringing the new generation to greater heights.
Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman has announced Arthur, 36, who is also Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) deputy president, as the candidate for the constituency
Joseph added Arthur is young but committed about the people.
“He is trained not only by the people but also exposed to domestic and international affairs.
“Moreover, Arthur is also the ambassador of National Transformation 2050 who will help people to face the challenges (for TN50),” he said after Musa, who is also the Chief Minister, announced BN candidates at Umno building here.
Joseph said he will remain as the president of PBRS.
“We will reorganise (the party) in stages and I would like to thank those who have been supportive to me (as past MP), ” he said adding there are about 80,000 members in PBRS.
PBRS had been allocated one parliamentary and one state seat, where Sook state seat remained with incumbent Datuk Ellron Angin.
