PETALING JAYA: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he is satisfied with the outcome of his meeting with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today.
Anwar, who arrived at the PKR headquarters here after calling on the Prime Minister at his residence at The Mines, said they had discussed several issues together.
“It was a very good meeting. I am satisfied with his stance that we must prioritise our principles and the reform agenda must continue. That is all I can say for now,” said Anwar, who declined to elaborate.
The Port Dickson MP arrived here to attend the party’s special leadership council meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and PKR advisory council chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
They were greeted by supporters who repeatedly chanted ‘Reformasi!’
Asked if there would be any changes in the government, Anwar said the mandate entrusted to them in the last general election must not be taken lightly.
However, he declined to reveal whether Dr Mahathir will make any changes to the government.
“We must not bow down (to the demands) of groups who want to betray the trust given by the people.
“I am moved by (Dr Mahathir’s) attitude and stance that he will not bow down to groups that want to wrest power without setting an agenda for change,” said Anwar.
