KUANTAN: The collapse of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government at the federal level will have no effect on the present Barisan Nasional-led Pahang government.
A source said it’s business as usual for the state, as it does not have any representatives from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
"Pahang remains as Barisan Nasional's (BN) stronghold and despite the turmoil in PH, nothing changes in Pahang. However, the state leadership is continuously monitoring the latest developments at the federal level," said the source.
BN has 25 state seats, Pas (eight), DAP (seven) and PKR (two) in Pahang State Assembly.
At the parliamentary level, BN has nine seats, DAP (two), PKR (two) and Parti Amanah Negara (one).
Before the collapse of the PH government, Pahang had one full minister namely Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah (Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituency) and three deputy minister Fuziah Salleh (Kuantan), Datuk Anuar Tahir (Temerloh) and Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji (Raub).
