KUALA LUMPUR: Umno has made public two letters the party sent to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which revealed the names of Umno members of parliament who withdrew their support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
In the letters to the king, which were posted on Umno Online yesterday, party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had presented 13 statutory declarations (SD) signed by the party MPs to the monarch.
Although in the second letter dated Aug 4, Zahid mentioned Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah as among those who withdrew their support, Tengku Razaleigh's SD was not presented along with the letters to the Agong.
In the Aug 4 letter, Zahid wrote that Tengku Razaleigh had "never signed any SD supporting Muhyiddin and has asked the Dewan Rakyat Speaker to switch to a new seat in the House".
"I would like to confirm that not one MP has withdrawn the SDs that were presented to His Majesty. With this, I confirm that the 14 MPs have been confirmed, " Zahid wrote in the second letter.
In the SDs, the MPs wrote that they are withdrawing support for Muhyiddin as prime minister effective immediately in accordance with the decision by the Umno supreme council on July 7.
"However, I still support the PN government, in line with the party's decision," the SDs read.
The Umno MPs who signed the SD aside from Zahid are:
Datuk Seri Najib Razak
Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan

Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said
Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin
