KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) has reminded people to be cautious with promises made by Pakatan Harapan (PH) ahead of the 15th General Election (GE15), especially related to creation of job opportunities.
BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said before the 14th General Election (GE14), PH had promised to create one million job offers with at least RM2,500 of monthly income.
However, when the pact came to power, he said, 55,000 contract staff from the government sector were terminated from their jobs.
"Do not be fooled by PH propaganda about job opportunities ahead of GE15.
"BN when it was in power was determined to create jobs but when PH came to power, they created excuses to abolish it," he said in a statement on Facebook today.
When BN returned to power, he said, they would push to create more jobs for the people, something which they have done before when they were in the government.
"Not only for the public sector but also for the private sector through industrial empowerment, boosting foreign investment and more," said the Umno president.
