Ismail Sabri to Rafizi, "Our survey shows it will be tough for PKR"

KUALA LUMPUR: Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli should not be overconfident about the party's chances in winning the 15th General Election (GE15).

He said BN, too, was confident of putting up a good fight to take over Putrajaya with the people's support in the general election.

Ismail Sabri, who is also an Umno vice-president, said this in response to Rafizi's claims that PKR stood a good chance of winning GE15.

"It's the same, our survey also shows that it will be tough for them (PKR) to win.

"Every political party that is participating in the general election has confidence in winning it... (Tun) Dr Mahathir (Mohamad) of GTA (Gerakan Tanah Air) also said it will win. PH (Pakatan Harapan) also said it will win. PN said it, too, will win. And of course, BN thinks it can win.

"There are no elections if they are not confident in winning it," he said at a press conference today.

Earlier, Ismail Sabri was briefed on police preparations for GE15 and floods.

Last night in a campaign Rafizi said it would be tough for BN to win GE15 as Malaysians were unhappy with its performance.

He said based on PKR's survey, 63 per cent of Malaysians were unhappy with the federal government led by Ismail Sabri.

"Also, 78 per cent of the respondents are disappointed with the country's economic situation. If those in Umno or BN are confident about winning the elections, they have nothing to back that (confidence)," he was quoted as saying.
