KOTA BARU: Former Ketereh member of parliament Tan Sri Annuar Musa, tipped to be dropped from the Barisan Nasional (BN)'s candidate line-up, may join another political party.
Sources said Annuar is expected to make an announcement about the matter soon.
"Ketereh is Annuar's area. He has a lot of supporters there. If it's true that BN does not want to field him, it's really a waste.
'I was informed that Annuar was approached by a party leader recently to ask about his well-being after being informed that he is not contesting in the coming election.
"There was a positive sign in their discussion, but Annuar decided to wait and see first," said the sources.
Meanwhile, Annuar said he would only decide on his next move after the candidate announcement by BN leaders tonight.
"I will not be disappointed if l'm not fielded for Ketereh. For me, my political career will not end now.
"I will sit down and think properly, without rushing into things. There are a lot of choices. If not one of the government coalition's parties, there are other political parties out there,"
"The scenario has changed... even Pas and Bersatu are the government's parties and they were under the same prime minister," he told reporters here today.
Annuar however, said any decision made would be referred to the Ketereh Umno division.
"Ketereh has more than 4,000 members who will work hard for the people in the constituency," he added.
Asked whether he had received any offer from other party, Annuar said at the moment, he still belongs to Umno.
"How can a party offer me when I am still a BN MP or "wife of somebody?". Let's drop the speculation and wait for the announcement," he added.
