IPOH: Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi won the Bagan Datuk parliament seat with only a 348-vote majority.
The six-term Bagan Datuk member of parliament secured 16,578 votes; followed by Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin from Pakatan Harapan (PH) with 16,230 votes, Dr Muhammad Faiz Na'aman (PN) 8,822 votes and Mohamed Tawfik Ismail (independent) 226 votes.
The Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat has 58,183 registered voters while Pasir Salak has 74,631 votes.
In the 14th General Election (GE14), Ahmad Zahid beat PKR's Pakhrurrazi Arshad and Pas' Ata Abdul Muneim Hasan Adli with a majority of 5,073 votes.
