How about you proving your 115, Najib tells Muhyiddin

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has challenged Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to reveal the identity of the 115 members of parliament who had allegedly given their support to him.

In a social media post today, Najib said Muhyiddin's 115 majority had included 10 Barisan Nasional MPs and 23 from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

"He has started a fight against the palace and Malay Rulers. He said he has 115 statutory declarations (SDs) which supported him as prime minister.

"Let's challenge him. Ask him to list out the 115 MPs who had given the SDs to him.

"Even before Umno and BN had started their meetings, their (PN's) broker gang has started buying SDs from a few BN MPs.

"He even lied to GPS saying that BN has agreed to cooperate in a PN government although BN hasn't even met anyone from PN or GPS yet at the time," he said.

Najib, who is former Pekan MP, said Muhyiddin had failed to understand that SDs can no longer be used after the anti-party hopping law was implemented.

He pointed out that MPs who go against a decision made by the party could lose the seats they won on BN's ticket.

"This was why the 10 BN MPs, who PN successfully bought in the beginning, told the palace that they wanted to revoke their SDs.

"His traitorous behavior, the 'scheme of things' game for bribery and his greed for power resulted in him not being appointed as prime minister today. Who else do you want to blame?

"If he could betray and cause a split in BN even before forming a government together, what will happen to Umno and BN five years from now? Unification of the Ummah does not begin with betrayal.

"For that reason, the Umno supreme council yesterday decided to form a unity government as instructed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on condition that Umno will not work with PN."

Earlier, Muhyiddin at a press conference insisted that he has a 115 majority to form the next government and challenged Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to prove his majority support.

This came after it was announced that the King had confirmed Anwar's appointment as the nation's 10th prime minister.
