KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has congratulated his successor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who was named as the 10th prime minister today.
In a statement, Ismail Sabri also expressed his gratitude to Malaysians and civil servants who had worked hard under his Keluarga Malaysia federal administration.
The Bera member of parliament said he was hopeful that the new government under Anwar's leadership would be able to maintain political stability and economic growth in the country.
"Thank you to all members of Keluarga Malaysia and civil servants, especially the frontliners who have been with me all this while.
"I really appreciate the support shown by Keluarga Malaysia, helping me in my administration in facing challenges and ensuring that Malaysia will continue to be on the road of recovery in terms of health, politics and economy.
"I pray the new government will be able to maintain the country's political stability and economic sustainability," he said.
