KUALA LUMPUR: DAP is not interested in meddling in the affairs of MCA after its Youth wing urged the party to not field any candidates or assist arrogant ones in the upcoming six state elections.
DAP national publicity secretary Teo Nie Ching said MCA and the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition needed to iron the matter out themselves following the stance of the Youth wing.
"It is the direction they need to decide for their party and the coalition, not my party. They need to figure out their own business.
"If it were about DAP business, I also would not want other parties to talk too much about it as well," she told the New Straits Times today.
Earlier, MCA Youth secretary-general Daniel Wa urged the party to sit out the elections and not assist candidates who have become arrogant after befriending DAP.
Wa, however, stopped short of naming the leader, whom he described as become "cocky" and was seen to be a DAP spokesman, as if they only needed DAP as a friend.
"All this while, MCA has been loyal and been steadfast to the principles and spirit of BN.
"Through thick and thin, MCA stayed with BN although many component parties left BN when it was hit by tough times.
"Now he has a new friend in DAP, so he has become proud and does not need MCA or MIC which are labelled as burdensome.
"I hope the MCA leadership will look at the suggestions of this person to teach the proud, arrogant and senseless (a lesson)," said Wa.
