Viral posting that Hadi banned from Saudi Arabia is false, says Pas

KUALA LUMPUR: A viral post claiming that Pas president, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, was banned from entering Saudi Arabia due to terrorist ideologies has been proven false.

Pas, in a statement published on Facebook, asserted that the spread of such accusations is evidence of a lack of ideas among certain parties to compete 'democratically, maturely, and with dignity' in the current state elections

"The fact is that the official statement from Saudi Arabia uses the Hijrah calendar, not the Gregorian calendar, and Abdul Hadi is no longer the vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars.

"Let's come together with PN to eliminate such low-minded political culture and build a clean and stable nation," stated Pas in the release.

Earlier, a statement purportedly claiming that Abdul Hadi, who is also the member of parliament for Marang, was banned from entering Saudi Arabia due to alleged terrorist ideologies, had spread on social media since yesterday.
