Dominic: I was not asked to leave Pas ceramah

GEORGE TOWN: Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau has cleared the air today, saying there is no truth to the claim that he was asked to leave a Pas ceramah yesterday.

Lau said he went to the ceramah to meet Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, but as the event started late, he had to leave.

"Abdul Hadi had asked to meet at 9pm at the event. However, he was only there around 10.30pm.

"So I could not speak to him as I needed to head back to the island for a meeting."

He said he was never asked to leave the event.

It was reported that Lau allegedly left the ceramah in Sungai Dua last night as he was not invited to join the Pas programme with Hadi.

The ceramah also featured state Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman and Perikatan Nasional's Penanti state seat candidate Zulkefli Bakar and Pas vice-president Datuk Idris Ahmad.

Lau, who is PN deputy chairman, is contesting the Bayan Lepas state seat.
