SHAH ALAM: Batu Tiga seat candidate Datuk Seri Rina Harun hopes that employers will not prevent their staff from exercising their right to vote in the ongoing state elections.
Her concern stems from witnessing a low voter turnout in the constituency she is contesting, as of 9.40am.
She said employers should effectively manage their employees' schedules to allow them to fulfil their responsibilities as Malaysians in selecting their representatives.
"Voting is not a matter of choice; it's a responsibility.
"If workers aren't granted leave to vote, I hope they can be provided with time off to come and vote before resuming work," she said today.
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate came to Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 20 here to visit the voting centres at the constituency.
She cast her vote in Sepang earlier today before her arrival here.
