GOMBAK: Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin expressed his confidence that voters in Gombak Setia would vote for a stable government that could bring them prosperity.
Clad in a bright red shirt, the Gombak Setia Barisan Nasional candidate said he could feel the positive vibes despite standing against incumbent assemblyman Hilman Idham from Perikatan Nasional.
"I can feel the good and positive vibes because I was a candidate before. You know when positive vibes are with you.
"The rakyat wants a stable government that could bring them prosperity and what's important is that we need to say no to divisive politics.
"This is my hope and I hope it's echoed by voters in Gombak Setia," he told reporters after voting at SK Taman Seri Gombak 2, here, today.
Megat, who is BN state liaison chief, was accompanied by his wife, Datin Hanizam Harun, and mother, Puan Seri Raja Azizah Raja Ahmad Shah.
He also thanked grassroots from BN and Pakatan Harapan who tirelessly helped him campaign.
Addressing the low voter turnout, which stood at only 28 per cent in Selangor as of 11am, Megat called for voters to fulfil their duties.
"I am sure that the voter turnout will increase as hours go by.
"Don't waste your votes because they not only determine the candidate's glory, but also your future.
"If you don't vote, don't blame the government if they fail to fulfil their duties."
He was seen taking photos with voters in the constituency.
He also greeted Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay and Gombak Officer-in-Charge-of-Police-District Assistant Commissioner Zainal Mohamed Mohamed at the polling station.
The Gombak Setia constituency will see a three-cornered fight between Megat, Hilman and independent candidate Mohamed Salim Mohamed Ali.
