KUALA LUMPUR: Caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has claimed victory in the contest for the Sungai Tua seat.
"Alhamdulillah, with 11 ballot boxes yet to be counted, Insya-allah, I will retain the N16 Sungai Tua seat," said Amirudin in a posting on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
In the posting, he thanked all the voters in Sungai Tua.
"I will give my full service to you," he said.
Amirudin is defending the seat in a three-cornered fight against Muhammad Hanif Jamaluddin of Perikatan Nasional and independent candidate Suman Gopal.
