JELI: Bersatu's Jeli member of parliament Zahari Kechik is aware that several Pas leaders are unhappy with his move to declare his support to the prime minister.
However, he said he understand the reasons for them to act like that and he accepted it with an open heart.
"I do not mind that Perikatan Nasional and Pas leaders are unhappy with my recent decision to declare my support to the current government. They do not understand my situation.
"I have about 60,000 constituents in the Jeli parliamentary constituency who I need to take care.
"I felt ashamed of myself as I could not assist them since last year as their MP. I felt really down," said Zahari.
Asked whether he was called by Bersatu's disciplinary board following his action back the unity government, Zahari said so far, he did not receive any call.
"I must face the music and I am aware of the consequences. I think I will not become their candidate any more in the next general election," he added.
Yesterday, Zahari denied he received bribe following his decision to support to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's administration recently.
He had said the allegation was baseless as he never received any of offer and was never approached by any politic broker to do what he did.
He warned certain quarters to stop slandering him or he would not hesitate taking legal action.
Zahari was the second MP from Kelantan Bersatu who declared support for the Madani government on Nov 8.
The other one was Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim.
