KKB by-elections: PN to consider election petition in response to by-election result

KUALA KUBU BAHARU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) will examine the need to file an election petition to challenge Pakatan Harapan's victory in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

PN's deputy chairman, Datuk Seri Faizal Azumu, said the ultimate decision will rest with the party top leaders, who will take decisive action if deemed necessary.

"We will examine every possible action we can take, and of course, we will proceed accordingly," he said during a press conference held at PN's main operation room.

Previously, Pas secretary general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said PN will file an election petition if PH wins the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

He, who is also the opposition chief whip, claimed it has evidence of government misconduct which could allegedly sway voters in the polls.

Takiyuddin cited the election petitions filed in Terengganu, Kelantan and Melaka following the 15th General Election.

Faizal also said that the coalition accepts the by-election result with an open heart.

He said the party will enhance their efforts to secure victory in the upcoming elections.

"We have witnessed the public's support throughout the campaign period. We have engaged with voters directly, and thankfully, the atmosphere has been vibrant.

"The reception given to us, especially to our candidate by the machinery, has been excellent, and they have worked tirelessly.

"We accept this result with an open heart, and we will further improve our efforts to continue the good work we have been doing."
