KOTA BARU: Mohd Azizi Abu Naim said today he will meet his lawyer to discuss a legal response to the state assembly speaker's decision to declare the Nenggiri seat vacant.
He said he is surprised at how fast the speaker acted. He thought the announcement would come much later.
"I was informed that the state assembly yesterday received the notice from Bersatu (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) about the revocation of my membership. I did not expect them to announce the seat vacancy today."
Azizi contested and won the Nenggiri seat on a Pas ticket in the 15th General Election. He was also the first Bersatu member of parliament from Kelantan to declare support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last year.
"I accept the decision. I will discuss with my lawyer tomorrow the action that l can take, whether to seek an injunction or challenge the decision," Azizi said.
The state assembly speaker, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, declared the state seat vacant at a press conference today.
