NIBONG TEBAL: Pakatan Harapan's candidate for the Sungai Bakap by-election, Dr Joohari Ariffin, will use the remaining six days of campaigning to explain to the voters his "perPADUan" (unity) manifesto.
The manifesto was unveiled during the Ceramah Perpaduan here late last night.
"I will use whatever time I have to reach out to the voters to share about my commitment for Sungai Bakap should I be voted in as the assemblyman on July 6.
"I am confident that this is not something impossible to do.
"I am also committed in ensuring that anything planned out will be
implemented accordingly," he said.
Joohari said things would be much easier, especially with the state and federal governments' commitments.
Asked how confident he was that everything inside his manifesto could be fully implemented, Joohari said he was not here merely for a week or two.
"InsyaAllah, it will take one whole term to complete everything. Give me time.
"For example, big projects will involve various levels. We will keep the people undated from time to time," he added.
Regarding his chances in the by-election, Joohari remarked that the outcome "depends", but asserted, "We are on the right track. We will continue to work hard and will not rest on our laurels."
Joohari is in a straight fight against Perikatan Nasional's Abidin Ismail for the Sungai Bakap state seat.
Upgraded infrastructure, free tuition, poverty elimination and a resolution to citizenship issues in Sungai Bakap are among Joohari's key manifesto promises ahead of the by-election for the state seat.
Underpinning his "perPADUan" (unity) manifesto, he promises fairness towards all constituents.
