GOMBAK: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said he is not aware of any discussion between opposition representatives and top leaders in the unity government.
"I do not know cause I do not have any ties with Pas," Khaled, who is also Defence Minister, told reporters after he attended the launching of the Gombak Umno division delegates meeting here today.
Yesterday, Zahid revealed that there were requests from opposition representatives to meet him and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to discuss on possible cooperation for the next general election.
Zahid, however, said he is not yet open to the idea or to meeting the representatives from the opposition bloc.
Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah earlier today said that no one from the opposition bloc wanted to meet Anwar or Zahid.
The party's deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man also said he was not aware of any opposition leaders or members requesting to meet with top leaders of the unity government.
Tuan Ibrahim said he had no information regarding any requests from opposition leaders for such a meeting.
"Pas has never authorised any of its leaders to engage in discussions (regarding possible cooperation in the next general election).
"I also do not have any details regarding members of the opposition bloc, if any, who have requested as such (to meet Zahid and Anwar)," he said.
