Prove Kelantan govt gave me allocations, ex-Nenggiri rep tells Pas

KOTA BARU: Former Nenggiri assemblyman Mohd Azizi Abu Naim has claimed that he was denied his rights while serving as the assemblyman, including never receiving any allocation from the state government.

Azizi, who was expelled from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) on June 13, also challenged the Pas leadership to provide evidence that he received allocations and labelling him as greedy.

"When they (Pas leadership) give speeches, they make all sorts of personal attacks against me, saying I am greedy, ungrateful and so on.

"I challenge them to prove in what way I was greedy.

"I have also asked Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (Pas deputy president) to show evidence of the allocation Kelantan gave me during my tenure as the assemblyman.

"They can say whatever they want, but I was denied my rights as an assemblyman.

"I did not receive a single sen in allocation from any executive council, even though I know that each assemblyman gets an allocation of up to RM1.2 million annually.

"In fact, the basic necessities set through the Al-Iqtan Scheme for distribution to the poor was not given to me, but to the Nenggiri constituency supervisor," he said when contacted today.

It was reported that Tuan Ibrahim had claimed Azizi was greedy and was using the allocation issue to declare support for the unity government under the administration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He also said all assemblymen in Kelantan had received fair allocations.

Azizi, who is also the Gua Musang member of parliament, said he used his own money every time he met his constituents until he received allocations from the unity government.

He also said the issue of not receiving allocations as an assemblyman had been raised with the Bersatu leadership previously, including with the state chairman Datuk Kamaruddin Md Noor.

"However, I was told to be patient and reminded that we only had six (state) seats every time I raised the matter.

"(And) when I lost my seat and a by-election occurred, they accused me of being greedy even though not all Kelantan assemblymen received allocations.

"It is easy to talk, so please provide proof if it is true that I received allocations."
