Takiyuddin confirms receiving draft MoU on allocation for opposition MPs

GUA MUSANG: A top Perikatan Nasional leader today confirmed that he has received a draft of the memorandum of understanding related to allocations for opposition members of Parliament.

PN chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said he received the draft from the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof's office via email on Tuesday (Aug 6).

"I will bring up the matter to be discussed during PN's meeting sometime after the polling day for the Nenggiri by-election," he told reporters during a ceramah in Sungai Asap here.

The Kota Baru member of parliament, however, did not provide any details on the content of the MoU.

"I need to show this draft first to the (PN) chairman (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) and other top leaders in the party.

"Whether we agree or not... If we don't agree, what needs to be discussed, and our next course of action?

"They also agree to form a joint committee with us but we have yet to decide on the matter," he added.

He said the draft MoU would be sent to Takiyuddin. He also said if the opposition agrees to the draft MoU, the next step is to form a committee with representatives from both the opposition and the government.
