PUTRAJAYA: PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil said there were no issues with components of the unity government outside Barisan Nasional not being invited for the upcoming Umno general assembly.
He said his party respects Umno's decision on the matter.
"There is no problem as we (the components of the unity government) meet almost every day.
"So, there is no issue and we respect any decision made by Umno," Fahmi said after the handing over of sponsorship by the Communications Ministry's strategic partners for the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.
Yesterday, Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki had said this year's Umno general assembly will prioritise the party's "big family" and will not include leaders from parties other than those in BN.
