Umno introduces PenTalk to highlight ministers' achievements

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno has introduced a new segment called PenTalk for this year's general assembly, providing a platform for its ministers to brief members on their achievements and initiatives in the federal government.

Umno information chief Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the move was also to ensure that Umno ministers in the unity government could inform the party's top leadership and members about the progress and performance of their respective ministries.

"This year's assembly is a bit different from last year, which only involved division chiefs. This time, we are opening the platform by providing PenTalk to showcase the achievements of our ministries, some of which have not been covered in the media.

"With PenTalk, we want our members to be aware that (Umno) ministers in the Madani government, which is the federal government, are working to deliver their objectives," she said during a session with editors in conjunction with the 2024 Umno general assembly today.

Umno kickstarted its general assembly today with PenTalk, which was organised by its Information Department.

The segment was aimed at sharing the party's achievements, as well as the best strategies to prepare for the 16th General Election.

Present during the segment earlier were Umno vice-presidents Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Datuk Seri Johari Ghani, and supreme council member Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

The 2024 Umno general assembly, taking place from today until Aug 24, will see the participation of 6,433 delegates from across the country.
