Sabah PKR to file police report over slander against Anwar

INANAM: Sabah PKR will file a police report regarding false statements made by several TikTok accounts and Facebook pages, which slandered Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alleging that he attempted to protect several Sabah assemblymen allegedly involved in corruption.

Sabah PKR information chief Razeef Rakimin said these false and malicious claims were spread across multiple TikTok and Facebook pages.

"The slanderers are accusing the Prime Minister of using the alleged issue to ask for more seats for Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the coming state election," Razeef told reporters at the Sabah PKR office here.

Sabah PKR, he said, is also aware that certain parties are urging the Prime Minister to pressure the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to immediately investigate the individuals involved.

He added that such calls amount to obstructing and interfering with the MACC's investigation.

He urged all parties to allow the MACC to conduct its investigation into the alleged corruption independently.

Sabah PKR also expressed support for the firm actions taken by the authorities, including the police and Sabah Electricity, in cutting the power supply to 17 illegal gambling premises in Penampang and Tawau recently.
