KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional is prepared to form partnerships with local parties, in addition to Pakatan Harapan in preparation for the upcoming 17th Sabah state election.
However, its chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, said that any collaboration would only involve parties that respect BN.
Bung, who is also Sabah Umno chief, said this when asked about BN's strategy ahead of the upcoming Sabah state elections, including discussions on collaborative strategies and seat allocations.
While he did not name specific local parties, he was previously reported to be unwilling to cooperate with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), currently the largest coalition of local parties in Sabah.
Bung today said no decisions have been made about collaborations with PH or any other parties for the polls which must be held by next October.
On 5 November, BN and PH Sabah held an informal meeting on a possible collaboration for the state election.
