Big thanks to Wisma Putra

ON Sept 29, about 9pm, I received an SMS from my in-law, informing that her youngest daughter, Syahirah Amirrudin, a medical student at Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar, Indonesia, had died in a road accident, while her brother and sister were seriously injured.

I informed the Consular Division of the Foreign Ministry at once.

Within an hour, the Malaysian embassy in Jakarta acted on the information and made arrangements for the deceased’s body to be flown to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

She was buried at the Shah Alam Section 23 cemetery on Sunday night (Oct 1).

On behalf of my in-law, Hj Amirruddin, and his family, we wish to express our gratitude to the officers in Wisma Putra and the Malaysian embassy in Jakarta for rendering immediate assistance and for making the trip back for burial hassle-free.

We are also thankful to the Indonesian police, hospital staff and students at Universitas Hasanuddin for their assistance, care and love.
