LETTERS: People who buy household groceries weekly probably fill up the cart when they go shopping.
Many people tend not to check the receipt after leaving the cashier counter, partly because we don't want to hold up the queue or are in a rush to be done with the shopping. One day, when we reached home, my wife noticed on the receipt an item with an undecipherable description that cost RM30.
It stood out as it was the priciest item on the receipt and we could do not recall deciding to buy it. And the item's description did little to help.
After some checking, we realised it was a 200g box of Moroccan blueberries that my wife recalled was labelled half price. So, buyers beware. Always keep your eyes wide open before parting with your cash. Double check the prices.
We have read many tales on social media about people getting billed with unusual prices for common food items and others.
So, do not rush. Verify what you are being asked to pay for before you confirm the order.
