LETTERS: I would like to show my support for the anaesthesiologist who was left frustrated after a 24-hour shift led to the rejection of a modest RM200 claim due to a technical failure in the hospital's facial recognition attendance system.
His frustration is understandable as the claim had been made after a gruelling shift.
Of course, documentary proof is necessary for the administrator to authorise the claims.
Facial recognition attendance systems are a convenient way to record staff presence.
However, if the attendance record cannot be obtained due to a malfunction, the administration should consider other records, such as the date and time of reports written by the person, or asking staff members to vouch for the person.
I hope the hospital administration will reconsider and find a just solution.
