LBS Bina Group Berhad is cautiously optimistic that it will set new benchmarks and offer an even broader range of products and services to the market in the fiscal year 2022.
"The new norm is no longer new, with more variants emerging and more vaccines being administered to combat the virus, we should also remember never to let our guards down and have history repeat itself," said LBS Bina's executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San.
Lim spoke at the company's annual town hall meeting, which took place over two days in both virtual and physical settings.
The town hall meeting was attended by approximately 955 people, including independent directors and employees from MGB Berhad, M3 Mall, SCAPES Hotel, and Zhuhai International Circuit Limited (ZIC). It continues to be the company's official communication platform for management and employees to share performance updates and forecasts.
Lim used the occasion to introduce Datuk Yong Lei Choo, who was appointed as an independent non-executive director to LBS' Remuneration Committee and Risk Management Committee on January 14, 2022.
Yong joined the Royal Malaysian Police Force in 1986 in Taiping, Perak, and served for 36 years before retiring in October 2021 as Deputy Chief Police Office of Kuala Lumpur.
Lim stated in a media statement on January 14 that with Yong's experience and background, he is confident she will do an excellent job in her new role, providing LBS with sound advice and a unique perspective as management works to steer the company forward.
Yong's appointment brings the board to a total of two female directors, a 25 per cent female composition, indicating that LBS supports the push for greater female representation in boardrooms.
During the town hall meeting, LBS deputy chief executive officer Lucas Lim provided an in-depth overview of the company's digital transformation roadmap initiatives and future digitalisation plans.
Datuk Cynthia Lim, the executive director, stated that LBS's key characteristics, namely swift action and interdependence, have positively impacted the organisation since its inception in 2021.
Shany Lim, the Heroes of Change founder, introduced the initiatives, their major objectives, and their respective agents, represented by employees from all departments, to further grow the key attributes.
She stated that the agents' primary role would be actively integrated into the working culture of LBS.
