SKB Shutters Corp Berhad has joined the list of firms setting up shop in Eco World Development Group Berhad's (EcoWorld) RM2.85 billion Eco Business Park V (EBP V) in Kuala Selangor.
Factory lots that can be customised and merged to create larger plot sizes are available in the 700-acre development.
EBP V is EcoWorld's largest green business park and is situated in the Klang Valley's developing Puncak Alam growth corridor.
Paragon Pinnacle Sdn Bhd, a joint venture firm established in November 2016 by EcoWorld and the Employees Provident Fund Board, is responsible for the development.
The east gate, west gate, south gate, north gate, and central gate are the five phases of the green industrial hub.
Over 85 per cent of EBP V is now occupied, including notable companies like EB Group, Baosteel Malaysia, and Rurutiki Sdn Bhd.
The choice of SKB Shutters to locate their firm in EBP V, according to EcoWorld's deputy president and deputy chief executive officer Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu, will aid in efforts to make the industrial park one of the best in the country.
SKB Shutters, which makes and supplies steel doors, roller shutters, and storage rack systems in Malaysia, paid RM36 million for 9.81 acres of industrial land in EBP V to build a new production facility.
According to the company's managing director Michelle Sin, it decided to extend its operations in EBP V because of the location's cutting-edge infrastructure and strong clientele.
"We are proud to position our manufacturing plant among other high-calibre establishments. With the cutting-edge facilities, extensive connectivity to major business ports, and superior security, we are confident of the boundless possibilities that EBP V can offer," she said.
Sin said SKB Shutters will continue to ensure that its new plant prioritises green building operations including adapting rainwater harvesting and solar energy that is expected of its large roof coverage.
