Battersea Power Station achieved 480 mln pounds in home sales in 2022

Battersea Power Station completed and handed over 1.1 billion pounds in properties, and achieved 480 million pounds in residential sales in 2022.

Simon Murphy, chief executive officer at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said the nearly half a billion pounds of new residential sales in 2022, and more than one billion pounds of completions demonstrate the significant demand to live in the new riverside neighbourhood created at Battersea Power Station.

"This builds on over 400 million pounds of sales in 2021, making our total residential sales for the past 24 months just shy of 1 billion pounds," he said.

Murphy said 2022 was a year for the history books for the project with the public opening of Grade II* listed Power Station and Electric Boulevard, a new pedestrianised high street, on Oct 14.

Battersea Power Station included completed apartments within the Power Station, Gehry Partners' Prospect Place, Frank Gehry's lone residential structure in the UK, and Foster + Partners' completion of buildings in Battersea Roof Gardens.

Koa at Electric Boulevard, which includes 204 studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments near the southern end of Battersea Roof Gardens, also opened in October 2022.

According to Murphy, over 80 apartments were reserved within eight weeks of the launch, illustrating the sustained high demand for Battersea Power Station residences.

The wider Battersea Power Station is owned by a consortium of Malaysian investors, comprising S P Setia (40 per cent) and the Employees' Provident Fund (20 per cent).

The commercial assets within the Power Station building are owned by Permodalan Nasional Berhad and EPF.

The development is home to shops, restaurants, bars and leisure experiences within the Grade II* listed landmark, on Electric Boulevard, and in the first phase of the regeneration project, Circus West Village.

Further openings will take place throughout 2023 including a 24,000 sq ft Arcade Food Hall from JKS Restaurants.

London fitness brand, Third Space will also open a 28,000 sq ft club at Battersea Power Station offering space for training, recovery, relaxation and nutrition.
