Peng Soon-Liu Ying have found the best formula

KUALA LUMPUR: National mixed doubles player, Goh Liu Ying admits that her partner Chan Peng Soon and herself have just the right formula to perform as best they can, with focus being on their preparation in facing the German Open and All England.

Peng Soon-Liu Ying, who have been reunited as a pair only recently were searching for their best game rhythm despite emerging victorious from the Thailand Masters last month.

At the Malaysia Masters last month, Peng Soon-Liu Ying, who are 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalists, marched to the quarter-finals of the tournament, and at the India Open last week, they were shown the exit in the first round.

“We played in three tournaments while trying to find our game rhythm and reacquainted with each other as well as acclimatising to the competitive atmosphere after being out of the game for eight months recuperating from the operation for my shoulder injury.

“I admit that our performance is not at our level best yet. At the India Open last week, even though the result was disappointing, we did manage to identify our weaknesses that troubled us.

“So now we are in the process of addressing the weaknesses and improving our game. Our focus now is to prepare as best we can for the German Open and All England,” said Liu Ying during the Puchong United Badminton Club press conference ahead of the final round of the Purple League in Genting Highlands this Thursday.

The German Open takes place from March 6 to 11 followed by the All England from March 14 to 18.
