KUALA LUMPUR: The BA of Malaysia (BAM) today announced their final line-up for the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals on May 8-15 in Bangkok.
Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Aaron Chia will skipper Malaysia's challenge at the prestigious biennial team tournament flanked by world No 7 men's singles Lee Zii Jia, veteran Liew Daren, Teo Ee Yi, Ong Yew Sin alongside the up and coming Ng Tze Yong, Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin, as well as newcomer Chia Weijie.
The women's Uber Cup team comprise a youthful squad, namely 2019 Sea Games champion S. Kisona, two-time world junior champion Goh Jin Wei, Eoon Qi Xuan, Pearly Tan, M.Thinaah alongside debutants, the newly crowned Dutch International Series champion Myisha Mohd Khairul, Tan Zhing Yi, Anna Cheong, Low Yeen Yuan, Valeree Siow and 17-year-old Chan Wen Tse.
In the Thomas Cup, Malaysia are in Group D with 2014 champions Japan, England and New Zealand, while the Uber Cup team are in Group C with Thailand, Denmark and Egypt. Malaysia last won the Thomas Cup crown in 1992 in Kuala Lumpur.
