The Malaysian duo will meet China's top seeds Chen Qing Chen-Jia Yi Fan in the second round tomorrow.

Independents Boon Xin Yuan-Wong Tien Ci were eliminated 21-13, 21-10 by Japan's Keiichiro Matsui-Yoshinori Takeuchi. Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong were shown the exit 21-16, 15-21, 16-21 by Taiwan's Lee Jhe-Huei-Yang Po Hsuan.
