Jin Wei off to a winning start at World Championships

KUALA LUMPUR: Two-time former world junior champion, Goh Jin Wei, on Monday got her World Championships campaign off to a winning start.

Jin Wei, 23, marched into the second round of the competition after downing Hungary's Vivien Sandorhazi 21-18, 21-15 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

The Malaysian, however, faces an uphill battle, as she will take on the in-form world No. 1 An Se Young of South Korea next.

The independent Jin Wei has not had it easy this year, suffering 10 first round exits from 13 World Tour events.

Se Young, on the other hand, has won seven titles from nine finals so far this season.
