KUALA LUMPUR: Women's singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei marked her Olympics debut with a winning start, beating Johanita Scholtz of South Africa in the Group H in Paris on Monday.
World No. 32 Jin Wei shrugged off a slow start to clinch a 23-21, 21-11 win against her world No. 103 opponent.
Jin Wei will face South Korea's world No. 17 Kim Ga Eun in the final fixture to decide on the group winner on Wednesday.
It's a make-or-break match for both players as only the group winner will qualify for the knockout round.
