KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia marched into the semi-finals of the Thailand Open following a hard-fought victory over China's Lu Guang Zu today.
World No. 10 Zii Jia edged No. 19 Guang Zu 21-13, 16-21, 21-18 at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok.
The 26-year-old Zii Jia won the first game, but Guang Zu levelled proceedings, forcing a decider.
The China ace gave Zii Jia some anxious moments in the third game before the Malaysian prevailed.
Zii Jia will face Japan's second seed Kodai Naraoka or Taiwan's Chou Tien Chen in the semi-finals tomorrow.
