Zii Jia eager to make his mark at Paris 2024, says CDM

KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia is determined to leave his mark at the Paris Olympics, according to Malaysia's chef de mission for Paris 2024, Datuk Hamidin Amin.

"Zii Jia has informed me that he is looking forward to the Games and eager to achieve something in Paris," Hamidin said in a statement on the Olympic Council of Malaysia's (OCM) Facebook page on Tuesday.

"I advised Zii Jia to maintain his focus during training and to take every match as it comes once he reaches Paris. We will wait for the badminton draw on July 12.

Hamidin visited Australian Open champion Zii Jia and his team at Sports Arena Sentosa on Tuesday.

World No. 7 Zii Jia is in the final stages of preparation before departing for Paris.

The 26-year-old is currently training under coach Wong Tat Meng, alongside sparring partners Lee Shun Yang, Lim Chong King, Tan Choong Yen, and Ter Chun Long. — BERNAMA
