CDM to look into Olympic accreditation problem for Zii Jia's team

KUALA LUMPUR: Chef de mission (CDM) Datuk Hamidin Amin said he will do his best to ease shuttler Lee Zii Jia's concerns ahead of the Paris Olympics.

Hamidin said he will try to accommodate a few requests by the world No. 7 shuttler.

The CDM said Zii Jia, an independent player, has requested for additional accreditations for his own team.

However, due to the "small" Malaysian contingent, the amount of credentials are proportionately allocated by the Paris organisers.

"Zii Jia has requested additional accreditations for his team... for a physio and a sparring partner. His coach Wong Tat Meng will receive accreditation," said Hmidin today.

"I'm working on fulfilling his request, so that when he steps on court he does not have to worry about this."

Hamidin said Zii Jia will head to Singapore next week to spar with training partners from Thailand and Singapore for a week.

Timesport reported yesterday that Goh Jin Wei's coach, Nova Armada, has failed to get Olympic accreditation. Hamidin said Jin Wei will, instead, be assisted by BAM coaching director Rexy Mainaky in Paris.
