KUALA LUMPUR: BAM yesterday unveiled the attire, which its shuttlers will wear at the Paris Olympics later this month.
The national body showed on its social media pages a photo featuring mixed doubles Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, men's pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, and women's pair Pearly Tan-M Thinaah.
The kit, designed by BAM partner, Yonex, features a blue, white and red colour scheme that corresponds with the colours of the national flag
However the colour yellow is missing from the clothing.
The Facebook comments section sees netizens responding positively to the Yonex kit.
Facebook user Rul Zie commented: "This jersey looks smart in my eyes... I have to buy this Olympic edition."
Nadhira Jira said: "Now this looks beautiful."
Muhammad Dafit said the attire is nice, but added: "If yellow is incorporated, the colours of Jalur Gemilang would be complete."
However, some did mention that the kit is confusing, and it looks like the Malaysian players are representing France.
Faiz Zaidan Ali commented: "#badmintonmalaysia or #badmintonfrance?"
Mei Lin commented that the kit is "very French! oui! (yes)."
Muhammad Shaffieq Fik asked why the colour yellow is missing from the kit.
Nee Chen Chee said that "there is no Malaysia in this (kit)."
It is highly unlikely that independents Lee Zii Jia and Goh Jin Wei will don the BAM jersey in Paris.
Zii Jia is sponsored by Victor while Jin Wei's main sponsor is Li Ning.
