New Malaysian Paralympic attire earns praise

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's new official attire for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games has garnered widespread praise from netizens.

The outfit features a white top and bottom set with tiger-like stripes in red, blue, and yellow, symbolising the Malaysian flag.

Unveiled by the Paralympic Council Malaysia (MPC) on X yesterday, the design has been hailed by users as one of the best the country has ever seen.

"Perfect. Using a real model, the outfit is great, and the photograph is amazing. Can I get a piece?" said @izzuddinrzli.

"Seriously beautiful, its colours give a Paris vibe, and the pattern has a Malayan tiger vibe. All the best to the Malaysian Paralympic athletes," said @BurgesRyrie.

"Now, that outfit is some real eye candy over there!" said @sajajeoha987.

The design was modelled by national para swimmer Muhammad Imaan Aiman and boccia player Abdul Razzaq Abdul Rahman.

In contrast, the official attire for the Malaysian contingent at the Paris Olympics previously faced a wave of criticism online, with many Malaysians voicing their displeasure over its "uninspiring" look.

Revealed on June 23 during the Olympic Day celebration at TRX here, the Olympic Council Malaysia said the gold-themed attire was meant to symbolise Malaysia's pursuit of its first Olympic gold medal.
