KUCHING: Federal Territories (FT) shuttler Justin Hoh smashed aside his national teammate, Ong Zhen Yi, of Penang, for the men's singles gold in the Sarawak Malaysia Games (Sukma) at the Sibu Indoor Stadium today.
The world No. 68 comfortably won the final, 21-16, 21-15, in straight games.
World No. 131 Zhen Yi staged brief comebacks in both games, but Justin stayed composed and stymied any attempts from the former.
It was Justin's third title of the year having won the Saipan International last month and the Slovenia Open in May.
In the bronze medal match, Selangor's Chua Kim Sheng defeated FT's Hooi Shao Herng 21-11, 21-15.
National women's singles player Wong Ling Ching, representing Sarawak, lived up to her favourite tag by defeating Penang's Oo Shan Zi 21-12, 21-15 in the final.

Melaka's national juniors Aaron Tai-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan secured the mixed doubles gold by defeating Tan Wei Liang-Khor Jing Wen from Penang 21-17, 21-16.
