World No. 9 Tang Jie-Ee Wei were beaten by Indonesia's world No. 16 Dejan Ferdinansyah-Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja of Indonesia 21-15, 13-21, 21-9 in the second round.
Pang Ron-Su Yin checked into the last eight after overcoming compatriots Yap Roy King-Veleree Siow 21-9, 21-15.
Meanwhile, independent pair Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing also exited the second round after a 21-18, 21-18 defeat to Jesper Toft-Amalie Magelund of Denmark.
