KUALA LUMPUR: The national youth shuttlers were unfazed by the new relay scoring system as they topped their mixed team group at the World Junior Championships in Jiangxi, China, today.
The team ended their Group C campaign with a dominant 110-53 victory over the Netherlands at the Nanchang International Sports Centre.
It was their fourth consecutive win, following earlier victories over Estonia (110-61), Norway (110-51) and Mongolia (110-48) under the new scoring format.
BA of Malaysia development coach Jeffer Rosobin praised his players' composure and hopes they will continue to fight in the knockout stage.
"The players performed well and stayed composed today. I hope they can push beyond the quarter-finals," said Jeffer.
Malaysia, the third seed, will likely face Group D winners and 10th seed Denmark in the quarter-finals.
The national junior team claimed bronze at last year's edition in Washington, United States.
