Rosman to walk back into BAM?

KUALA LUMPUR: The BAM has identified a candidate for the national women's doubles head coach job, but won't reveal the details for now.

The post fell vacant following Hoon Thien How's redesignation as the national junior boys' doubles coach.

National coaching director Rexy Mainaky said: "We cannot announce anything yet but all I can say is the candidate has experience and knowledge in handling women's doubles. But we will not make any announcement yet until the candidate is ready to start.

"If there is reshuffling of the women's pairs, we will leave it to the new coach to handle the changes."

The incoming coach will have the responsibility of ensuring World No. 7 Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah stay in the hunt for a medal at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

BAM has also retained Teoh Mei Xing-Go Pei Kee (No. 116), and Tan Zhing Yi, Lee Xin Jie, Cheng Su Hui, Amanda Yap, Chan Wen Tse, Chong Jie Yu, Vanessa Ng and G. Vannee.

It is widely expected that Rosman Razak could be given the post. He was BAM's doubles coach for almost two decades before leaving in 2020.

Rosman declined to make any comments on the matter when contacted by Timesport, but said that his focus is only on helping independent pair and World No. 18 Yew Sin-Ee Yi for the Arctic Open in Finland (Oct 8-13) and Denmark Open in Odense (Oct 15-20).
