KUALA LUMPUR: The BA of Malaysia (BAM) hopes the free entry for the Malaysia Super 100 tournament, scheduled for next week, will encourage fans to pack the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara and support the nation's rising stars.
BAM secretary-general Datuk Kenny Goh said the tournament offers national backup players a chance to prove themselves and gain valuable world ranking points.
"This is the second time we are organising this tournament, and preparations are on schedule.
"We have decided not to sell tickets, allowing free entry to encourage as many supporters as possible to come and watch our players," he said in an audio message shared by BAM with the media today.
Among Malaysia's rising stars competing in the men's singles are world No. 61 Justin Hoh and No. 186 Eogene Ewe.
In the women's singles, the country's challenge will be led by K. Letshanaa and Wong Ling Ching.
Kenny also confirmed that 340 players from 20 countries have registered for the tournament, including former world No. 1 K. Srikanth from India.
