Hon Jian-Haikal just want to regain rhythm on return from injury

KUALA LUMPUR: Men's doubles Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri aren't overly concerned about their chances of qualifying for the World Tour Finals (WTF) as they prepare to return to action at the Korea Masters in early November.

Haikal said that although they are still in the running for a WTF spot, their priority is to regain their rhythm after more than a month off due to injury.

"Before the China Open, we had set a target to qualify for the WTF, but now I've told him (Hon Jian) not to get our hopes up too high," said Haikal at Academy Badminton Malaysia, Bukit Kiara, today.

"I think it's better for us to focus on finding our rhythm again because there are many tournaments next year, like the Malaysia Open."

The world No. 19 missed several tournaments after Hon Jian sustained a hip injury during training in September.

Hon Jian returned to training two weeks ago.
