The world No. 8, who are aiming for their fourth World Tour title, defeated Taiwan's Lin Bing Wei-Su Shing Heng 21-12, 21-17 in 32 minutes at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium.
Having already secured their spot in next month's World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, Sze Fei-Izzuddin have claimed titles this year at the Japan Open, China Open and Arctic Open.
The independent pair face compatriots Nur Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong, who beat Taiwan's world No. 39 Chang Ko Chi-Chen Xin Yuan 21-9, 21-18, in the second round on Thursday.

Malaysia's Low Hang Yee-Ng Eng Cheong earned a spot in the main draw after a hard-fought 18-21, 23-21, 21-11 win over Taiwan's Chen Cheng Kuan-Chen Sheng Fa.
They will go up against Taiwan's Chiu Hsiang Chieh-Wang Chi-Lin in the first round tomorrow.
